Open House Melbourne - Hidden in Plain Sight: Rediscovering the Shrine of Remembrance
- 天數: 90 分鐘 (左右)
- 位置: Melbourne, VIC
- 产品编号: PP42
A century ago, a public design competition resulted in the grand architecture of the Shrine of Remembrance. Built between 1927-34, the Shrine is one of Melbourne’s most iconic monuments, its design evoking the grandeur of ancient Greek and Roman structures. But there’s another story to be told beyond its commanding presence.. In this guided tour, design educator and YouTuber Kevin Hui of Archimarathon will uncover lesser-known elements of the Shrine’s design.
Over 90 minutes, this tour will cover both the interior and exterior of the Shrine of Remembrance from an architectural and spatial design perspective. From the landscape and building design of the original Hudson and Wardrop building, to ARM’s adventurous yet sympathetic redevelopment, the tour will leave you with a new-found appreciation of this sacred place.
This event is part of the Open House Melbourne Weekend 2023 running across Saturday 29 + Sunday 30 July.
Bookings essential.
