The Battle of Fromelles claimed the lives of almost 2000 Australians. In 2007, 250 of these men were discovered in a mass burial site and were later disinterred and examined before reburial at Pheasant Wood Cemetery in Fromelles.

Once unknown soldiers, 173 of these men have now been identified by name through DNA technology, forensic science and historical data.

In this talk, Senior Investigator at the Army’s Unrecovered War Casualties Unit Major, Cameron Clarke, and President of the Fromelles Association of Australia Geoffrey Benn will uncover the ongoing identification efforts at Fromelles and how they connect families with loved ones killed in battle.

We also invite guests to attend the afternoon service commemorating the service and sacrifice of those who fought in the Battle of Fromelles. 

The talk will be held in the Shrine Auditorium. Bookings are essential.
