'The Waler' explores the story of the Australian horses that served alongside soldiers from 1914-18. More than 130,000 Australian horses served in the First World War, with almost 30,000 of those engaged in the Middle East.

The documentary explores the horse’s colonial origins, their gallant service, and their shameful fate while uncovering the intense bond between man and horse during the conflict.
